These two have quilting!

The first is my favourite, but I like both of them.

If you drive through a town in Australia and there is lots of wrought iron around verandas and balconies it is usually a town which had a foundry. A lot of towns have at least some, but mining areas have more on older buildings, even if the mines are long closed.

Once I started drawing quilt designs I went through photos I had taken of the buildings and thought the lace work designs could be  interesting as applique designs with some modifications, and then they became quilting designs too.
 

Love the first design, though I haven’t added any quilting motifs, but that is because I would keep it very simple, in black thread on the black background.

Love the second design for today too … and I have had a thought that I would make two tops and add wadding to both and quilt, then tie the two together back to back so it is fully reversible. That would give me the problem of working out which side should be every time I made the bed!
